Reminder

[00:00:00] Okay people. It's Tuesday morning, not in the office. I'm not on call. It's a tribe called GI Day. I just heard this great podcast early 1.5 Speed, as I like to do about, once again reminding ourself we're not everyone's flavor. And it's a really good reminder, especially for those of us who are people pleasers who feel that we really need to try to appeal to everyone, which is totally a thing that many of us have.

I certainly do, and it's hard, you know, I feel like if I talk about ob, I'm disappointing my gynecology patients. If I talk about gynecology, I'm disappointing that pregnant women, I no. See gynecology patients in my office. And when people reach out and ask if I'm seeing new patients, I feel like I'm a traitor.

I feel like if I don't talk to every single friend enough, which of course I can't talk to every single friend enough, I'm not being a good friend, and am I taking care of my parents and my sister and my children and blah, blah, blah. Oh yeah, my husband, all the things. So it was just a good reminder. You cannot be everything to everyone.

Much as we try, it will ruin us. And so you have to remind yourself that unless you honor yourself, you won't help anyone.
